Here’s a quick demo of the Peavey AmpKit Link for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
The Amp Kit Link interface features a 1/4″ jack input, suitable for guitars and bass and a 1/8″ mini-jack stereo output, which can be connected to headphones, amplifiers, or powered speakers.
Unlike other iPhone/iPod guitar interfaces, the AmpKit Link requires two AAA batteries to power it’s headphone amplifier. At first, this might sound like a disadvantage, but trust us it’s not…the circuitry inside the AmpKit Link offers a better quality output signal and eliminates the “cross talk” interference that can occur with other iPhone/iPad interfaces.
After purchasing this interface, you will need to download the software of your choice from the Apple apps store. Although this interface is compatible with all iPhone based guitar software, Peavey recommend their AmpKit software. You can download a free version from the Apple App Store.
Peavey’s Amp Kit software also allows you to record direct to you iPhone/iPad, as well as jamming along with tracks from iTunes.
