LA Amp Show ’10 – Tungsten Amps Buckwheat Demo

In this segment, we get up close and personal with Tungsten’s 30 watt combo, the Buckwheat. Tungsten’s approach to building amplifiers is to follow in the footsteps of the Fender tweed designs of the mid- to late-50s focusing on compression, sag, and a complimentary mid-range tonality with various dynamic levels. The Buckwheat is a 30 watt combo driven by 6L6 power tubes and shares the same preamp and voicing as Tungsten’s smaller combo–the Crema Wheat by having 2-12AX7 preamp tubes and a GZ34 rectifier tube. LA Amp Show ’10 – Scumback Speakers M75 65W Speaker Demo

In this segment, we get to check out Scumback’s M75 65W speaker demoed by a Friedman Naked head. Scumback describes the M75 as being a warm, detailed midrange enhanced guitar speaker with smooth overdrive and distortion tones. Great sound right out of the box due to factory aging, design and break-in procedures. This is a superb tone and sound recreation of the G12M Pre Rola era “Greenback” that was used in Marshall stacks and combos, and many other British amps of the era such as Vox, Orange, Sound City.
